I would suggest to start applying for jobs several months prior to graduating. You could even consider to start looking and applying in early 2018. Starting early gives you more time to practice and hone in on your interviewing skills as well as enough time to find the right position. To answer your question related to what job title you should be searching for, I would suggest focusing on entry level Engineering roles that will be applicable and reasonable for a candidate like you, just graduating. As you gain industry experience and knowledge, you’ll be able to grow your managerial skills and look for those types of positions in the future.

Congratulations on your senior year! I think timing really varies across the board - at my company, we start recruiting May graduates in September and run through April. A lot of companies tend to recruit heavily on-campus in both the fall and the spring, so I would begin preparing your resume and your short "elevator pitch" as soon as you're comfortable. In terms of titles, they tend to vary from company to company, so I would pay more attention to the requirements of the job and less to the title. Many companies' careers sites allow you to set up job alerts based on a set of qualifications or criteria that you set, and that can be a great way to keep on top of new potential opportunities.

Good morning,Congratulations on your upcoming graduation in May. I would suggest starting your career search soon and begin with your career services office. There you will be able to find what companies will be on campus this spring and when the career fairs are. You will also be able to read any job descriptions and decide what company you would like to target.
