Should I connect with recruiters on Facebook or LinkedIn?

When connecting with recruiters, I would suggest one to connect via LinkedIn due to it being a professional social media network whereas, Facebook is more personal. This way the recruiter can view all your professional accomplishments, skill sets, and accomplishments versus see what you had for lunch yesterday or where and your friends went out this past weekend. Now if you are personal friends with the recruiter that is a different story. Also, this is a way to keep your personal life completely separate from your professional life. Now when reaching out to the recruiter, if you have met them or know them then add away. But if you have not met them or know them and wish to add them, I suggest you type out an explanation as to why you would like to connect. Whether that be for more information about an internship/ position, information about the company, etc. This way the recruiter can take action and accept your invite and help you out at the same time, thus creating an instant connection and networking.

Hi, Connecting with recruiters and following companies is a great resource to you on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a professional networking social media outlet so recruiters expect to interact with you. I would stay away from connecting with recruiters on Facebook  and keep things professional. Good luck to you!

I would recommend connecting with Recruiters via LinkedIn. Though Facebook's interface is changing a bit to provide more usage for the job search, I would stay away from it when it comes to trying to make professional connections. LinkedIn is known for it's professional network so you'll likely have the best success on there.
