One of the most incredible things about having an internship is that it is entirely about learning things. Learning the business, learning the culture, learning about yourself and last (but by far) not least, learning how to communicate. This sounds like a terrific opportunity to stretch your muscles on that last one. A positive review is a great jumping off place to communicate your desire to work for this company and continue to grow in your career. Your supervisor is aware of the length of your internship, so they likely have given some thought to your future. If your supervisor shared that there are no openings, but that they were pleased with your job performance, then yes, I would encourage you to discuss the alternate opening with them. Make sure to follow any protocols that are in place for the internal application process, and from there, put your best foot forward! We should all look for networking opportunities, and this sounds like a good one for you! Best of luck!
