When beginning to interview, what is the most important type of experience to be able to discuss when interviewing for a marketing position?

Thank you for reaching out!  When starting to interview it is important to discuss relevant experience.  In a perfect world, it would be an internship or career shadow experience.  A close second to discuss would be academic project experience gained in your Major courses.  Even if you had a job at Subway or the like, there are key qualities to discuss.  Major skills to focus on would be communication skills, project management experience, public speaking experience and organizations skills.

Hi there - great question! I agree with Holly, any relevant experience you can provide for the question they ask is best, try to talk about an internship or co-op that is relatable to the job you are interviewing for. If you get asked a question that you can't relate back to an internship or co-op you can always use an example from a class such as a project or group activity. To prepare for the interview make sure you look up the company you are interviewing with, understand and can talk about everything on your resume, and think back on experiences throughout your college career that you can discuss during your interview.
