What are the advantages of using twitter to facilitate the job search? How do I best utilize my account?

Great question! Twitter can be a useful way to communicate directly with brands/companies when you want to share your excitement for their products and services. Unfortunately, social media can be tricky to use in your career search, depending on things like what you post on your personal page/who you follow/etc. so I would be cognizant of those details. One way you could use Twitter creatively for your job search is to look for tweets around hiring events and career fairs from companies you're pursuing. You might send the company a DM for more details and explaining exactly why you want to work with that business! Best of luck to you on your job search!

Twitter is an amazing way to connect and network with prospective employers and professionals within the company and get an inside look to see what it might be like to work there. By utilizing keyword #hashtags you can search for jobs in specific fields, cities or state.

Twitter is one of many social media channels that are being used nowadays for recruitment efforts. Most companies have their own twitter handle and often they even have specific ones for the HR/Careers area of the company. You can follow companies you are interested in to learn more about what is going on event wise, as well as a better understanding of their company culture. We use our Twitter handle to share jobs and information on recruiting and networking events. We love when candidates engage with us and share messages or pictures from the events that they attend. Keep in mind that if you are using your handle for recruitment efforts, you want to make sure what you are tweeting about is business appropriate. We also use Facebook and LinkedIn to communicate with potential employees. Good luck!
