I have a couple discrete tattoos (one visible on my wrist), and a couple body piercings. Would it be wise to take these out or hide them for my interview? Should I assume companies are still quite conservative when it comes to these things?

Great question! I would recommend taking your piercings out for the initial interview. However, many companies do not mind body piercings, but that is something you would find out with time. Every company has a different culture, some more laid back than others, some very corporate and prefer professional attire. With that said, for the first interview, play it safe. If you land the job, then you can figure out if piercings are acceptable or not. Good luck!

Yes-Always error on the side of caution. You don’t want to take yourself out of the running before you even start. Many companies are open when it comes to body art and piercings, but many companies are very conservative too, so it’s better to be on the safe side. Beyond that you want to be sure that the recruiter and hiring managers are focusing on you and not being distracted by anything else!

Yes! When going in for an interview, multiple piercings and visible tattoos may give off the wrong impression. Even though a lot of companies these days do not mind piercings or visible tattoos, but you do not want that to be the reason for not getting a second interview or the job. So for the interview, play it safe and have them focus on you and your skill set/ experience not your piercings or tattoos.
