I graduated from Delta College here in Lafayette, LA about a month ago. I have been searching for employment as a Certified Medical Assistant since November 4,2013.  I've been on every job search site and every place I can to submit my resume and I an still having no luck!  What more can I do?

I would suggest that you work with the career placement office at Delta College. They have contacts and can help you network into companies.  I would also continue to circle back with the companies you sent your resume too. Given the new year budgets open up and you may have better luck.  I would also look at trade publications as they advertise openings, as well.

Good luck!

I would encourage you to establish a Linked In profile and get connected with "groups" in your field. This additional networking can help you find opportunities. Another option would be to consider getting connected with a staffing agency that specializes in the medical field. They may be able to find you a temporary position that can lead to full-time. Many employers like to try before they buy.

Good question and  I have a simple answer for you - network, network and when you are done, network some more!  Now, I'm being something silly in that response, but the simple truth is that at the core of every good job search is networking.  Reach out and work through the placement office at your college, utilize social media (if you are not already on LinkedIn, join today!) and reach out to groups or organizations established within your field.  If you are not opposed to working through an agency, then reach out to those that specilize in placing medical assistants in your area.  Many health care facilities utilize agencies, so that could be a potential avenue for you.

I know it is tough to feel encouraged when you aren't getting the responses you desire, but don't give up!

If you haven’t tried networking and searching for a job through social media sites such as LinkedIn, that would be a great start! Social media sites are a good resource to learn about companies and their various job opportunities and in most cases are great networking opportunities. Also, utilize the contacts you have at Delta College, whether it be professors, peers, or contacts at career services. They can help you in your job search, and also help with mock interviews and resume critiques if necessary. They will also be able to offer guidance on how best to job search for the field you want to get into. Good luck!
